My name is Marilyn Mele.
I am a Professional Dog Trainer and Founder of Dog Wisdom Workshop.
If you’re like most dog owners, you want a well-behaved pet. But you totally hate the idea of training your dog with hurtful punishment.
At Dog Wisdom Workshop, I teach dog owners how to bring out the best in their dogs with rewards instead of punishment.
My down-to-earth, dog-friendly programs let owners have fun while teaching their dogs to become calm, happy, cooperative family pets.
Dog owners often want answers to questions like these:
- Why does my dog do that?
- How can I make my dog listen to me?
- Is my dog smart enough to be trained?
- What can I do to make my dog stop (barking, digging, chewing, jumping, etc., etc.)?
How I can help you.
The joys of raising your puppy and training your family dog are often mixed with unforeseen problems, even for people experienced with dogs. Unfortunately, hit-or-miss attempts at a quick fix along with unreliable advice from well-meaning friends can leave owners feeling helpless, confused, and embarrassed. My programs provide pet owners with a proven, step-by-step system that prevents problems before they occur without using force or punishment.
When people are empowered to bring out the best in their dogs, they feel confident that their dogs will be cooperative at home and calm in public. When people and dogs trust each other, they can work together to achieve their highest potential.

I understand that not every dog owner is an experienced trainer. So owners often have difficulty teaching their pets good manners at home and in public. To solve this problem, I provide practical, science-based programs that let dog owners access the knowledge and skills they need to safely train their dogs with positive reinforcement. I help pet owners raise the cooperative family dog of their dreams without risking the negative results of punishment-based methods, even if they have never owned or trained a dog before.
What can you expect from me?
